Soap Powered Boats, and Hydro Dipping Paint

We decided to try out a couple of experiments for this video, the first, was to use “soap powered boats”, in which we simply cut out triangle shaped plastic pieces that we used as boats, then put soap on the end of them. When we put them in the pan of water, the soap would react with the water and cause it to take off. You should check out this experiment for yourself, it’s really easy to do, and only takes a few minutes of setup, plus, there’s no additional supplies needed beyond what’s probably already laying around your house.

Spray Paint Hydro Dipping

This was a super interesting experiment, and the results were really neat. We’re still not sure what we’re going to do with the pieces we painted, but it was really fun to make them. It kind of reminded me of “splatter painting”, but it was much cleaner and easier. I will say,┬áthe paint started to gunk up after doing it about 10 times or so. If you have something you want to have a super strange paint finish, this project might be right up your alley!
